Big Wu is packed to the brim with bling. It is head to toe covered in gold hardware, crushed turquoise, and paua abalone inlays, including a hand-cut third eye at the first fret.
Evan Kincaid (formerly of Pleasant Drive) commissioned this bass, which he later named Big Wu because of the shape created by the bark on the butt end of the burl top. We decided to make this a feature by making the body shape match, rather than filling the void.
Big Wu was my first extended range bass and the first to receive my tapered neck stringer design.
