This 7 string guitar features an Oregon Myrtle top with a custom black to red/purple to natural fade. It has a deep forearm carve with an African Blackwood and Koa detail that fades in and out over the contour.

A beautiful piece of Black Limba completes the body, with lots of smooth curves and rounded edges to make it extra comfy to play. The body is finished with an oil/wax finish for a smooth, natural feel.

The Limba contributes to the light weight of this instrument, coming in at just 7 lbs.

The Ziricote fretboard pairs beautifully with the Myrtle and has a majestic landscape pattern, while the Evo gold frets give it even more class.

The asymmetrical neck shape is comfortable and smooth, which makes it easy to shred. No sticky neck here, the neck is finished with a light tung oil finish to keep it nice and slick.

Everyone who has tried out one of my guitars has commented about how good the neck feels!

With the combination of the lower horn shape and the seamless neck heel carving, you’ll have effortless access to the upper frets

The guitar is finished off with a custom myrtle wood truss rod cover and a control cavity cover that matches the body, which is held in place by magnets.

I ship guitars via UPS Ground with insurance and tracking. The guitar will be packed in a hardshell case, inside of a box.

I had my eyes on this guitar for several months before finally making the purchase, and I am so glad I finally pulled the trigger. Aesthetically, you can take a look at the pictures and see how impressive this guitar looks. I love playing various styles of modern metal guitar, but I am a bit older and I don’t need the crazy body shapes you often find with 7 and 8 string guitars. This one works perfectly, eye catching but classy. The oil/wax finish feels super thin, giving the guitar a very natural wood feel front and back. Very unique choices for top and body woods make this a light feeling instrument, but it still has that solid and well built feel you expect from high end guitars. Playability was impressive right out of the box, with a comfortable and fast feeling neck that was well balanced with the lighter body. I made minor adjustments to the set up to match my personal preferences and found the truss rod to move smoothly (nice natural wood truss rod cover), nut slots cut to a perfect depth, and a quality Hipshot bridge that was easy to adjust and intonate. The pickups on this guy are Lace Sensor Drop & Gain and this is my first experience with them. They get a huge thumbs up from me for both aggressive distortion sounds, and super clean tones that take various effects quite well. You also get some pretty cool bonus features like classy looking gold frets, a wood control cavity cover that matches the back wood, and unique wood volume/tone control knobs that turn smoothly and are conveniently placed to adjust them on the fly. The gold headstock logo is a nice touch as well.

I highly recommend LAB Guitars based on my experience with this Montane 7 Black Cherry work of art. Support a local artist, and at the same time get a guitar that would cost twice as much if it was being sold by the major builders.
